This presentation will include projects as well as other residential, commercial, and civic designs by Calderón Architects. Noteworthy among them is the E-Bike Share Shelter in the Village of Ossining, located adjacent to the historic Old Croton Aqueduct Trail and developed in collaboration with THA Consulting for a public multi-modal transportation hub. The project exemplifies Calderon’s dedication to integrating sustainable infrastructure into the public realm.
Learning Objectives:
1. Urban Design Principles: After attending this program, participants will learn about how our projects address sustainable design for our municipal clients.
2. Systems, materials and methods. After attending this program, participants will be able to describe the building systems we are employing for our municipal clients.
3. Public health, safety and welfare (HSW). After attending this program, participants will be able to explain how our designs can protect building occupants in an emergency.
4. Code compliance and regulations: After attending this program, participants will better understand how our projects meet accessibility codes to ensure equitable access for all users.

J.C. Calderón is a seasoned architect with over 30 years of experience, distinguished by his deep commitment to both architectural practice and community development. As the 2022 President of the AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley Chapter J.C. has played a vital role in advancing regional design initiatives and civic engagement. He currently serves as chair of the Mayor’s advisory Fishkill Avenue Concepts Committee for urban planning recommendations in Beacon, NY. As a former Beacon Planning Board member and local architect he has advocated for visionary infrastructure improvements, most notably a proposed grand public stair that would connect Beacon’s Main Street to the MTA train station and strengthen the city's urban connectivity.
J.C. Calderón holds a Bachelor’s degree from Williams College and a Master of Architecture degree from the Yale University School of Architecture.
